what code is still working? I have it working but only w/firefox. How come it dosent work w/ie? (tried this on multiple machines)

you can embed the player still with the above fix and a change in the syntax of the code. i have mine working still and loving it also the code will embed any flash file you wish. if interested in code plz let me know and i will post it hoping the MS folks dont see it and ban it again.

notlong.com works perfectly fine. though tinyurl.com is filtered out. so if Tom ever finds out abot notlong, just look for a similar service.

I have a working workaround, tried and tested.

You need the following:

- Flash

- A photobucket account

- A Myspace account

First you need to work out what the size of your player is.

It's one of the following:

- 160x400 (default)

- 160x160

- 400x160

- 480x210

Open up flash and create a new flash. Change the resolution to one of the above that matches your player resolution.

Open up the 'actions' panel and type the following:

loadMovieNum("XXXXXXXX", 0);

with XXXXXXXX being the link to your Stickam flash webcam widget. (leave in the "")

Next publish the flash (as a .swf) onto the desktop or wherever.

Upload the now saved flash to your photobucket account and insert it into your MySpace as you would any other Photobucket content.

I would show you an example of my Stickam on my Myspace page but I dont want the Myspace people to ban me.

All Stickam needs to do is figure out a way to make another flash file that users can host on their own webspace. This file will basically only need to forward the data to the real stickam player. By doing this you are basically loading a "shell" of the real player. MySpace sees that you have embedded a flash file from yourwebhost.com and the file does the actual connecting to Stickam. MySpace has no way of knowing it is a stickam player unless an employee actually visits your profile and sees it.

i figured out a workaround for this, but i'm not sure if it's against myspace TOS or not.

someone else siad try iframe last night to me, i made a myspace flash page but the links wont work inside my swf cause again another myspace filter..... but anyways they would prolly just filter iframe tags to, i already tried a meta redirect to a freewebs acct, that didnt work either :(

Thanks mitch01, yeah I get a lot of those glitches too plus there's unwanted noise between tracks, the tracks wont show up in the player at all 7 out of 10 times and they're on and ofline at random, so you can not program/plan a livewebcast up ahead.
cause stickam might ber ofline for another "sitemaintainance"

I have a idea....., is it possible that stickam replace the word stickam in the address by a randomly set number ig www.7452745.com/profile/etc You need a randomizer, a code translator that tells the site that this number stands for the word stickam. it would be stickam in ocurance but a number in linking. They can not blok random numbers!!!

Great idea in practice, but there are a few MAJOR things that are preventing stickam being "the next big thing".

1. The amount of locking up and freezing/crashing of pages. So many people I talk to on here report the same issue. Click a link, and it freezes the browser solid (IE/Firefox/Safari) all seem to be affected.

2. Inconsistent server errors trying to go live with people. This happens quite a bit and not just to me.

3. Usage. At the moment leaving Stickam on webcam chattig for even 2hrs a day each day for a month has a MASSIVE IMPACT on downloaded data. A preset list of rules need to be set to ensure a constant reasonable video quality, that wont destroy a download limit.

i like stickam a lot better than myspace, but the sad truth is that everybody and their mama knows what myspace is. myspace killed friendster. its gonna take a huge publicity rush in order for stickam to get a piece of the marketshare. :(.

I feel that its wrong that myspace has blocked stickam. I just used mine for photos and music and thats not right to block people who never did anything wrong. i'm gonna mail tom and tell him there are worse things on myspace than stickam. To the stickam staff i love the player but we cant use it and its not right.

I'd love to see stickam being used in more then one way. It seems like you advertise it mainly for the young social crowd, but your product has so much more potential then that!

STICKAM can be used in so many ways thru the use of a webcam. I'd love to see it being used for LIVE HELP & Demonstration situations, it would be nice to interact with a technician LIVE on the web easily. Imagine being able to show someone thru the use of a webcam exactly how to repair or do something over the webcam.

I would like to say that I am pretty sure the reason Myspace will not allow Stickam.com to be used on their pages is because of the number of people here at Stickam trying to broadcast their ugly nude bodies. Myspace allows no porno on their site. So in order for Stickam to be re sent to Myspace there has to be no porno on the web cams. I feel that it will probably be a cold day in hell before Myspace will allow these players on their site again. I am a little disappointed in this fact, (and no I don't do porno) because I was using the stickam to see my kids who live out of the state I live in. Hopefully something can resolve this issue....in the meantime....use another program besides Stickam to show your Naked Butts Off.....PLEASE.

myspace has blocked/filtered the word STICKAM from their site... you can't use the code, the link to the website, or even write STICKAM without it getting filtered... HOWEVER...

they blocked the stickam URL but i doubt they blocked the IP.

but for some reason i cant access the site this way. i cant access any page via the IP... though theoretically I should be able to. right?

if someone can tell me (us all, really) how to access stick.com by referring to its IP and not its URL... then we're back in business

Yah this is all on Myspace's end. Essentially they are filtering out any link to stickam.com. We are in the process of determining why and if they can let us back on.

why!? i hope that myspace fixes this problem. i know when youtube got kicked out youtube put a link on thier front page to complain to myspace. maybe you guys can do the same. stickam was really helping me network on myspace. eeerrr.
